Good and bad news…

Hola! As you see, I haven’t been able to post any photos, because my camera got stolen!!  I knew things were pretty unsafe here, and that is the reason why I had brought my small camera… but going through it, was a very different experience. I was very happy shooting La Boca, and someone came running and pushed me to the side and grabbed the camera. I did not get hurt, but I was pretty shocked… In any case, here’s the good news… I got an exhibition at a gallery here in December, so I will be coming back and fortunately, will be posting photos and more things on my blog. I am very happy and wanted to share this news with you!  I am flying back home tonight, so I am back shooting this next weekend. I am planning on continuing my oceans and parks series, so more posting and writing in a few days. I apologize for the lack of photos but it was totally out of my control!

Don’t cry for me Argentina

Hola!
I am still down here… and it’s not that I forgot my blog, but I have been super busy visiting friends and family and having some tests done. I photographed a bit, but I didn’t process anything yet, so I will be updating my blog during the weekend.
Life here is very slow paced and it’s hard to adjust, specially when you go to a shop to buy something and you have to wait for the clerks to finish chatting or talking about the novela they saw earlier that afternoon!
Also, smoking is very common everywhere and they have dedicated areas in places that are probably 10 square feet… hmmm… not very helpful!
But it is nice to see super close friends and hanging out with them… Anyway, I will be posting some more things soon, so come back!

Finally!

I decided I couldn’t take this space constraints anymore (in the blog template, that is!) and I started changing HTML code around and see if I could finally post my photos without getting cropped… and I did it! I honestly like the black background better, but I think the trade-off is good!  I still have to change a few things, but at least, I will be able to post photos and stories from Argentina with much more space. Cool!

Trip to Argentina

I am getting ready for my trip to Argentina. I am leaving Monday 16th, and the trip is really long (DFW stop), so I will have plenty of time to write on the planes! I will also be posting images and stories while I’m away. Once I am back, I will resume my photography so I will post more photos from the series I have been working on and some new ones… ;D

I hope you all enjoy the stories and photos that will be posted here for the next two weeks!   Write comments if you want, so I can get feedback about what you like the most (or dislike!), and also if you would like to see any other photos from places over there. The Three Stooges

Ok, so Robert and I were leaving the beach, we turned around and I saw this… Right now I can’t place it with any series… but it will soon!,  so in the meantime, I’m posting it here. You have to click on it to see the full version because the program doesn’t let me fit the images in the post, unless they are super small, and  I’m sure it has to do with the template, but I don’t have too much time now to snoop around, as I am leaving next Monday, but I’ll try to figure something out while I am gone, so i can post all my photos from Argentina full throttle!

Santa Monica beach and the Pier

Another trip I’ve been taking often is L.A. I am shooting the beach and also the Santa Monica Pier. Both trips were taken with my friend Robert, and we have a blast every time we go! He’s the best! So, these images will be added to the Ocean series and also the parks at night… so as you can see, I’m working on three projects this year! Hopefully, if time permits, I can start a couple more soon.

Fairs at night

During the last two months I have been photographing amusement parks at night, once they are closed or they are about to close. I am trying to convey a sense of loneliness and how places that are packed during the day, and where people enjoy so much happiness feel and look when they are empty. I have been doing that at the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz, and these are a few photos I got. This is still work in progress, and most of the photos need to be processed, but the series will probably be completed by the end of the year…

Better late than never…

Hola! 

I’ve been shooting a lot lately, but I’ve also been sick and really busy with work. I am getting ready to leave for Argentina soon, so I will be posting photos and stories from there. In the meantime, I am sharing some photos here from my latest trips (day trips). I am working on two series but they are going to take all year to be completed: Oceans and Fairs at night. I also went to Moffett Field with my friends Lenny, Robert and Patti and it was great, so we are hoping to go back soon. I am posting one photo from that trip too. Anyway, I hope I can keep up and also add a lot of posts in the next month or so.
